Enhance bonding and development by keeping your little ones close.
Babywearing Education
Babywearing is more than a convenience; it's a practice that fosters closeness, security, and developmental benefits for both baby and caregiver. At Milk & Milestones, I offer personalized babywearing education to help you carry your baby safely and comfortably.
What Is Babywearing?
Babywearing is the practice of carrying your baby close to your body using a carrier, wrap, or sling. This age-old tradition offers a hands-free way to keep your baby comforted while you go about your day.
Parents and caregivers of all kinds can benefit from babywearing. It’s especially helpful for those seeking to bond more deeply with their baby, soothe fussiness, support breastfeeding, or simply make daily routines more manageable. Research shows that babywearing can reduce crying, enhance parent-infant attachment, and even support early language and social development! Additionally, toddlers can benefit from babywearing, as it provides them (and you!) with a sense of security and a quick “up” when needed. Babywearing can also be particularly beneficial for children with special needs, as it offers a comforting and secure environment that supports their unique sensory and developmental requirements as well as creating another mobility option.
Whether you're navigating the newborn stage, chasing a toddler, or supporting a child with specific needs, babywearing can be a practical and nurturing tool for everyday life.
Babywearing Benefits
Promotes Secure Attachment: Keeping your baby close fosters a strong emotional bond, enhancing their sense of security and trust, and helping you better attune to their needs.
Reduces Crying: Studies have shown that babies who are carried cry and fuss less, especially during evening hours.
Supports Breastfeeding: Babywearing facilitates easier breastfeeding by allowing for on-demand feeding and recognizing early hunger cues.
Enhances Cognitive and Social Development: Being at eye level with caregivers and the environment stimulates learning and social interaction.
Aids Physical Development: The upright position supports healthy hip development and can reduce the risk of flat-head syndrome.
Eases Symptoms of Reflux and GERD: Carrying babies in an upright position can alleviate discomfort associated with reflux.
