I am so glad you’re here.
I’m Katie Billingsley, MS, CCC-SLP, CBS - a speech-language pathologist, lactation counselor, babywearing educator, and Red Cross-certified CPR instructor. But the title I hold dearest is MOM to an incredible little girl.
My journey into this work started early. As a child, I’d join my father - the late Dr. Frank Billingsley, former Chair of OB/GYN at Sibley Hospital - on his hospital rounds. Those moments sparked a deep love for babies, families, and healthcare that has stayed with me ever since.
I studied developmental psychology and attachment theory as an undergraduate and later earned my Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from NYU. Over time, I discovered that early intervention - supporting infants and toddlers through a collaborative, parent-focused approach - is where I feel most at home. My passion for comprehensive, connected care led me to pursue additional certifications and education in lactation, feeding therapy, CPR, and babywearing.
Starting Milk & Milestones has allowed me to bring all of my experience together in one place, offering families thoughtful, multifaceted support rooted in evidence, empathy, and real-life experience. My goal is always to meet families where they are and provide the kind of care I would want for my own.
Outside of work, I’m someone who loves to learn and explore. I studied vocal music for years - opera and musical theater primarily, later performing in ‘80s and pop/rock cover bands. I enjoy reading fiction, dabbling in crafty projects, and spending time in the outdoors hiking, rock climbing, or skiing. My husband and I are both SCUBA certified and love traveling together when we get the chance.
This work is deeply personal, and I feel so honored to walk alongside families during such formative, tender seasons of life. I’m here to be part of your ‘village’ - cheering you on, guiding you through, and celebrating each milestone with you.
